Capcom jus dropped some exciting news for retro game enthusiasts! They have just updated their 40th-anniversary website, Capcom Town, with three more awesome games that you can play for free. Relive the nostalgia as you dive down to Capcom’s 40th Anniversary Website!
Now, you can enjoy playing the original Ghosts’N Goblins, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, and Breath of Fire on their website. These games have joined the lineup of other classic NES and SNES games like Street Fighter II, Mega Man, and Final Fight. It’s like having a treasure trove of old-school games right at your fingertips!
Okay, let’s be honest. Playing these games in your web browser might not give you the best experience. But hey, it’s still pretty cool that Capcom has made them available for free on their website. It’s like a little treat for all the fans out there.
Here’s another neat thing about these games. You can choose to play them in either Japanese or English. So, if you’re interested in learning some Japanese or just want to experience the games in their original language, you have the option to do so.
Am not gonna lie, I honestly am a fan of Breath of Fire and even emailed Capcom asking it to be released on newer platforms. But getting back on track, out of the three new games, Breath of Fire is quite special. It’s a JRPG series by Capcom that started back in 1993. The first game was released in Japan for the Super Famicom and then made its way to the SNES in the West a year later. Since then, several sequels have been released, with the latest one, Breath of Fire 6, being exclusive to Japan for PC and mobile devices in 2016. It’s a beloved series, and it’s great to see Capcom still remembering it.
