Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes – What We Know So Far

The Excitement Builds

It’s been over 25 years since the release of the popular RPG Suikoden. For millennials, this game was almost as famous as Final Fantasy. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes, a game based on Suikoden.

About Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is a game that stems from the famous old game Suikoden. It is being developed by Yoshitaka Murayama, the creator of Suikoden and Suikoden II. The game started as a fundraising campaign on Kickstarter and quickly surpassed its goal, becoming the third highest funded game in Kickstarter history.

The game was originally planned to be released in October 2022, but due to COVID-19, it has been delayed multiple times and is now set to debut in 2024. Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes will be available on multiple platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

What to Expect

The official PlayStation YouTube channel released a gameplay trailer for Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect. The game is described as a turn-based battle RPG with over 100 playable characters. The trailer introduces 13 characters, but more will be revealed at a later date.

The game features a vast world that can be explored through the story, with pixel-based characters reminiscent of Suikoden. The graphics are contrasted with a vibrant 3D environment, creating a unique visual style. The trailer also highlights several key features of the game:

Countless Ways of Fight

With over 100 playable characters, the game offers a unique mechanic where you can build combos with your allies. Certain character combinations will have special bonuses, and you can also use the terrain to your advantage. Each strategy is unique, so there are many different ways to approach battles.

War Mode

In this mode, you can command a legion of soldiers and use their skills to gain an advantage in war battles. The game offers dynamic conversations depending on who you are fighting against, adding depth to the gameplay.

Home Sweet Home

Your heroes will have a headquarters that you can revitalize. By adding pastures, fields, and facilities, you can restore the town that has been destroyed by war. Allies specializing in town development can help you in this task, though the advantages of a fully restored town are not yet clear.

Mini-Games

In addition to the main battles, Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes also offers several mini-games. So far, five mini-games have been revealed, including bayblade, fishing, cooking management, card games, and horse racing. It’s possible that more mini-games will be included in the final release.

Release Date and Pre-Order

Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes is set to be released on April 23, 2024. If you can’t wait to play, you can already pre-order the game.

With its nostalgic roots in Suikoden and exciting new features, Eiyuden Chronicle Hundred Heroes promises to be an epic RPG adventure for fans of the genre. Get ready to embark on a journey of heroism and camaraderie in a world filled with over 100 unique characters!
