Sword Art Online Teases New Movie Project

Some really amazing news has come our way. A new film adaptation of the Sword Art Online series is currently in development, as the studio has just revealed. Exciting news! It was announced on the official Sword Art Online Twitter/X account immediately following the first terrestrial broadcast of Sword Art Online Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night. What a fantastic idea!

What’s the Announcement About?

The first thing that happened was that the announcement congratulated everyone who had tuned in to watch the show. However, there’s more! They also let it slip that they are in the midst of creating an entirely new theatrical animation. What a fantastic thing! They assured us that further information would be shared with us soon, but we do not yet have all the details. So, how about we stay tuned for any updates?

A Concise Overview of Sword Art Online

Let me give you the lowdown on Sword Art Online in case you’ve never there before. In 2009, Reki Kawahara launched the wildly successful light novel series Sword Art Online. It has now gone on to become an enormous success, inspiring numerous film adaptations, television shows, manga, and light novels. The universe is filled with incredible things!

In the summer of 2020, Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld: Part II aired as the most recent chapter of the TV anime series. By the way, have you heard of the film Ordinal Scale? Yeah, it’s real too!

The Progressive Movie Series—what is it?

We can move on to discussing the Progressive film series now. The first arc of Sword Art Online is told in the light novel of the same name, which serves as the basis for this series. The 2012 serialization in Dengeki G’s Magazine of the light novel by Reki Kawahara and abec began. This film series is fantastic, therefore I highly recommend it to anyone who like the original narrative.

Great News for Fans of Ordinal Scale as Well!

Also, for those of you who really like Ordinal Scale, I have some extra exciting news to share with you. In February, the film will be released in Ultra HD 4K. You should not miss it if you enjoy games with spectacular graphics and intense combat.
