This amazing performance took place at bilibili’s New Year’s Eve gala in China, and you know what’s makes it record breaking? Over 350 million people watched it live! That’s even more than the entire population of the United States!
The performance was put together by a talented Chinese youth dance troupe called O-DOG. They were joined by Hiroki Takahashi, the singer of the first Dragon Ball anime opening song, Makafushigi Adventure! This special event was held to celebrate Dragon Ball’s 40th anniversary and the lunar year of the dragon in 2024. The whole festival was streamed live on bilibili, a video platform similar to YouTube, and it broke records with over 344 million people watching at the same time. Can you believe it? That’s a lot of Dragon Ball fans!
The Dragon Ball musical was truly a spectacle to behold. It had everything we love about the series, from epic battles to heartwarming moments. The performance featured characters like Goku, Tien Shinhan, Vegeta, and Majin Buu. There were even special light shows and dance numbers that got the audience cheering with joy!
Some of our favorite characters got their own special moments too. Master Roshi did an incredible split and showed off his hip-hop skills, while Vegeta had his own island stage with smoke effects. And let’s not forget about Goku and Chi-Chi’s adorable couples dance! The surprises didn’t end there either. Dr. Slump’s Arale Norimika made a surprise appearance, adding even more excitement to the show.
The Dragon Ball performance was just one part of bilibili’s amazing New Year’s gala. This year, they decided to blend Eastern and Western culture and media together. They had international artists like Jake Miller and Ava Max, as well as performances that paid tribute to classics like Mickey Mouse, Harry Potter, Tom & Jerry, Spiderman, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bakusou Kyoudai Lets & Go!!, Ultraman, and of course, Dragon Ball.
Did you know that Dragon Ball is incredibly popular in China? It was actually inspired by a famous Chinese novel called Journey to the West. The main character, Son Goku, is based on Sun Wukang from the novel, who also has amazing powers. The series also incorporates elements of traditional Chinese martial arts like kung fu and karate into its action-packed fights.
If you thought the Dragon Ball musical was exciting, wait until you hear this! The performance has generated a lot of buzz for the upcoming Dragon Ball Daima. In this new anime, Goku and his friends will be transformed back into children and embark on a journey to regain their adult forms in a whole new world. How cool is that? The Dragon Ball Daima anime is set to be released in October 2024, so mark your calendars!
If you can’t get enough of Dragon Ball, you can stream the series on Crunchyroll and Hulu. So grab your popcorn, gather your friends, and get ready for an epic adventure with Goku and his friends!
