In the realm of DOTA 2, the leading force in the SEA region, Talon Esports, has opted to part ways. Their journey in The International 2023 was nothing short of remarkable, securing a spot in the Upper Bracket but ultimately falling shy of the mark, concluding their run in the prestigious top 11. This makes the current decision of the team, a little bit confusing for the audience.
Recently, Talon Esports took to their official Twitter page to reveal the decision to disband their formidable team. Each player has expressed their intention to chart individual paths.
Talon Esports Disbands as announced on Twitter
“After discussions with the team, we have come to a mutual agreement to part ways in order to explore other opportunities”
As of now, the future destinations of these exceptionally skilled players remain uncertain. Will they integrate with new teams, or perhaps take a well-deserved hiatus from the competitive arena? The possibilities are wide open. As for Talon Esports, the question lingers: will they return with a fresh roster for the upcoming Dota 2 season, or will they opt for a hiatus of their own? The next chapter remains to be written.

Recently came out of the pre-registration from Google Play, let’s dive to the world of SINAG Fighting Game, a mobile 1v1 fighting game developed by Ranida Games in collaboration with the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Garnering the hype of the Filipino community, it has recently burst onto the scene, captivating gamers with its unique blend of Philippine mythology and engaging gameplay mechanics. With a plethora of positive reviews flooding in, it’s time to take a closer look at what makes this game a standout in the mobile gaming arena.
One of the first things that allures players is the seamless animation of movements within the game. Personally, I have never thought that a Filipino-made game could be made with such meticulousness. The characters and environments are well crafted, showcasing a level of detail that is nothing short of impressive. Despite other games being somewhat easy to discredit, every aspect of SINAG’s visuals is a testament to the dedication of its developers. It’s not just a game; it’s a visual spectacle.
Gameplay
SINAG Fighting Game embraces the legacy of classics like Tekken, Marvel vs Capcom and Street Fighter, infusing the allure of Philippine mythology into its 1v1 combat. With a user-friendly control scheme featuring four buttons and directional inputs, it strikes a balance between accessibility and depth, welcoming players of all levels. While easy to pick up, mastering combos and special moves demands a level of skill and strategy, reminiscent of the golden era of fighting games.
The game’s core objective revolves around engaging in dynamic one-on-one battles with a diverse cast of eight characters, each wielding unique abilities. Progressing through SINAG’s immersive narrative, rooted in Philippine folklore, unlocks characters and stages, immersing players deeper into its rich cultural tapestry. Though the game maintains a moderate difficulty level, some characters exhibit advantages in reach, adding an extra layer of tactical consideration. Standout features include the emphasis on combo-driven gameplay, rewarding precision and strategy, and a vivid array of backgrounds showcasing iconic Philippine locales. While some stages might benefit from more dynamic design elements, the overall gameplay experience in SINAG Fighting Game is a testament to the developers’ commitment to delivering a culturally resonant and enthralling fighting experience.
Graphics and Sounds
SINAG Fighting Game boasts a visually striking experience with meticulous attention to detail but still has large room for improvement. However, while the animation and special effects are commendable, there’s room for more dynamic stage designs, particularly in static backgrounds. In the realm of audio, the game offers a unique auditory experience. It leans on a repertoire of vintage sound effects that evoke a sense of nostalgia, though they may feel somewhat dated to modern gamers. The sparing use of background music allows the focus to remain on the combat itself. Notably, the voiceovers for the characters are a standout element, delivering performances that align seamlessly with each character’s persona. Overall, SINAG offers a distinctive auditory experience, though a broader selection of sound effects and a more varied musical backdrop could further elevate the game’s audio appeal.
Replay Value
SINAG Fighting Game offers a captivating narrative experience through its well-crafted story mode, drawing inspiration from Philippine mythology. However, while the existing storylines are engrossing, the limited number may leave players craving more. The allure of unlocking characters with unique abilities provides a strong incentive for replay, yet the addition of collectibles could further enhance this sense of achievement. While Versus and Training modes offer additional gameplay options, expanding on these or introducing new modes could significantly elevate the game’s replay value. To realize its full potential and establish a lasting presence, regular updates with fresh content are imperative, breathing new life into the game and solidifying its status as a mobile gaming classic.
In essence, SINAG Fighting Game lays a solid foundation with its engaging story mode and diverse character roster. However, to truly shine and secure a lasting position in the gaming world, a consistent flow of updates is crucial. By introducing new elements like characters, stages, and storylines, SINAG has the potential to evolve into a timeless classic in the fighting game genre, captivating players with an ever-evolving experience that keeps them eagerly anticipating each update.
Availability
The game is currently available on Google Play with no available details if it would be released on iOS. We’ll update this post should we get our hands on some more information.
Conclusion
In spite of minor quibbles, SINAG Fighting Game stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of Philippine culture and folklore. Characters like Kapre, White Lady, Tikbalang and more offer players a chance to immerse themselves in captivating supernatural encounters drawn from Philippine mythology.
As the game continues to garner attention and admiration, it’s evident that SINAG is on the right path. Yeah, SINAG. That rings so much better than their lengthy game name. With a dedicated team behind it, there’s no doubt that future updates will refine and expand this already stellar gaming experience. The potential for SINAG to become a staple in the mobile gaming world is unmistakable, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

The International, one of the most prestigious esports tournaments in the world if not the most is just around the corner, and the thrill of excitement is palpable. A day more and the community will sound again this highly anticipated event.
Understanding The International: A Brief Overview of the Tournament
The International – is like the Super Bowl, World Cup, and the Oscars of the gaming world all rolled into one pixelated extravaganza. Focusing on DOTA 2, one of the games that have started it all for the gaming industry, we’ll get the privilege to watch twenty (20) triumphing teams fight on a specific match format.
For those not in the know, The International is an annual Dota 2 tournament where teams from all over the world battle it out for fame, glory, and a staggering prize pool that previously, could probably fund a small country.
The Remaining Filipinos playing for The International
Despite having more than a handful Filipinos playing on The International during previous years, there are only 3 Filipino players left to play at the said tournament. Everyone else were eliminated during the previous DPC and regional qualifiers. To present the three (3) astounding Filipino DOTA 2 pro-gamers, please see the list below.
Abed (Abed) Azel L. Yusop – currently playing for Shopify Rebellion. Together with his long time teammates (previously under Evil Geniuses), the astounding mid-laner steps at the The International’s stage once more. Abed’s official record goes way back 2015 with the Spirit Brothers as his signature heroes.
Jaunuel (Jaunuel) Arcilla – taking the only slot allotted for the SEA Region during regional qualifiers, Jaunuel playing support for Team SMG tops other contenders truly when it matters most. With his signature heroes Phoenix, Oracle and Grimstroke we look forward to where the greatness of their reformed team will take tem.
Kim (Gabbi) Villafuerte Santos – last but definitely not the least, Gabbi joins Entity just last July of 2023. With his carry/offlaner role, Gabbi together with the rest of Entity proves naysayers that they got what it takes to play at The International as they dominated the upper bracket during the last qualifiers.
Despite having few representatives of the country, the night is still young as The International’s group stage starts October 13, 2023, 1:00 AM (GMT+8). Drop the team you’re rooting for at the comment section and let’s watch in awe for the next team to lift the Aegis of the Immortal.
Capcom jus dropped some exciting news for retro game enthusiasts! They have just updated their 40th-anniversary website, Capcom Town, with three more awesome games that you can play for free. Relive the nostalgia as you dive down to Capcom’s 40th Anniversary Website!
More Games to Play
Now, you can enjoy playing the original Ghosts’N Goblins, Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, and Breath of Fire on their website. These games have joined the lineup of other classic NES and SNES games like Street Fighter II, Mega Man, and Final Fight. It’s like having a treasure trove of old-school games right at your fingertips!
Not the Best Way to Play
Okay, let’s be honest. Playing these games in your web browser might not give you the best experience. But hey, it’s still pretty cool that Capcom has made them available for free on their website. It’s like a little treat for all the fans out there.
Choose Your Language
Here’s another neat thing about these games. You can choose to play them in either Japanese or English. So, if you’re interested in learning some Japanese or just want to experience the games in their original language, you have the option to do so.
What’s So Special About Breath of Fire?
Am not gonna lie, I honestly am a fan of Breath of Fire and even emailed Capcom asking it to be released on newer platforms. But getting back on track, out of the three new games, Breath of Fire is quite special. It’s a JRPG series by Capcom that started back in 1993. The first game was released in Japan for the Super Famicom and then made its way to the SNES in the West a year later. Since then, several sequels have been released, with the latest one, Breath of Fire 6, being exclusive to Japan for PC and mobile devices in 2016. It’s a beloved series, and it’s great to see Capcom still remembering it.

It is no surprise that an update is on its way to the beloved indie game, Stardew Valley. However, on May 31, 2023, ConcernedApe, the solo developer of the popular farming simulator Stardew Valley, tweeted a single word: “iridium scythe.” This simple tweet sent shockwaves through the Stardew Valley community, as it was the first time that ConcernedApe had ever hinted at the possibility of an Iridium Scythe being added to the game.
The scythe is the only left on the its golden state hence the tweet of the iridium scythe makes the expectations that it would be a more powerful version of the Golden Scythe. The Golden Scythe is currently the most powerful scythe in the game, and it can be used to quickly clear large areas of grass or crops. Normally by hierarchy, the Iridium Scythe would likely be even more powerful, and it could potentially make it easier for players to harvest their crops and clear their farms.
The addition of an Iridium Scythe would be a significant change to Stardew Valley, and it could have a major impact on the way that players play the game. Currently, the most efficient way to harvest crops is to use the Golden Scythe and then use the hoe to clear any remaining grass. An Iridium Scythe would make it possible to harvest crops and clear grass much more quickly, which could free up players’ time to do other things, such as fishing, mining, or socializing.
The addition of an Iridium Scythe would also make it easier for players to complete certain quests and challenges. For example, there might be an incoming special order quest where players must harvest 1000 pieces of grass or anything scythe harvestable related crop. This would probably be very time-consuming, but it would expected to become much easier to complete if players had an Iridium Scythe. (Special Orders could be unlocked by Fall 2 of Year 1)
Of course, there are also some potential downsides to the addition of an Iridium Scythe. One concern is that it could make the game too easy. Currently, there is a certain amount of challenge involved in harvesting crops and clearing grass. If players have an Iridium Scythe, it could make the game too easy, and it could reduce the amount of time that players spend playing the game.
Another concern is that the addition of an Iridium Scythe could make the Golden Scythe obsolete. Currently, the Golden Scythe is the most powerful scythe in the game, and it is a valuable tool for players. If an Iridium Scythe is added, it could make the Golden Scythe less useful, and it could reduce the demand for the Golden Scythe. But hey, the scythe lost its purpose at the same time. So this one felt more like for collectibles.
Only time will tell if ConcernedApe decides to add an Iridium Scythe to Stardew Valley. However, the tweet from ConcernedApe has certainly got the Stardew Valley community talking, and it will be interesting to see if the Iridium Scythe ever becomes a reality.
With the trend keeps on coming for MOBA category games, a gem has been hidden for far too long. Well, I guess not really hidden as it stands with 10M in Google Play Store downloads alone! Zooba – Zoo Combat Battle Royale Games is a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game with a fast paced nature.
Gameplay
As a MOBA game, Zooba gives off an exciting survival feel to its players. The game starts of in a zoo where you are surrounded with a few regular guards and one legendary guard. Together with it are other Zooba players using different animals as their avatars. With the cartoonized avatars, you will be tasked to be the last man – err animal standing as you battle with other zoo dwellers for the top spot. The arena will later on be engulfed in flames as it narrows down to a specific center point randomly on the map. (Same concept from rules of survival game)
Being nearly true to its nature, Zooba creates animal avatars with each unique traits. For example, the Gorilla would smash, the fox would dash and the turtle would hide in its shell. So how would you battle your way to the top? Surprisingly, the arena is filled with weapons. Weapons that poachers of new and old would normally use. To enumerate, there are bow and arrows, shotguns, bombs and spears lying around. Each weapon has a different grade specifically normal, copper, silver, gold and legendary. This varies the damage accordingly as well.
As you bout for the top spot, guards will also try to take you down. From them you’d be able to get the weapon they’re currently using and a first aid kit. While early weaponry is necessary, the legendary weapon which is obviously held by the legendary guard is the best you’d ever get in the game. But do take note that skills and maybe a little bit of luck would be necessary as well.
Sounds
As a cartoonized concept, sounds and effects are what I would describe as perfectly suited. Explosions and elimination are not as fearful but is rather somewhat blended for the young audiences.
Conclusion
Despite being targeted for the young audience, the game is still fun to play. You’re rewarded just about right for every bout you conquered and does not look like a pay to win game. It is definitely a fast paced game as you are immediately evicted after being eliminated but with an option to spectate. I think the game is definitely praise worthy but on a personal note, I would want to see a different map some time soon as the terrain is currently repetitive.

Interested? The game is available at Play Store and App Store.
LIMBO. A gloomy themed game that lets you be a child on a dark and horrific environment trying to survive the dangers all by yourself. If you really want horror themed puzzle game, then we believe that this could really suit you best.
STORYLINE
“Uncertain of his sister’s fate, a boy enters LIMBO” – says the description at PlayStore
I’m not technically good on stories but it seems pretty convincing. It really felt like you’re in the game itself as you pay attention to every details. The creepy thing about this is that at some point of the game you could get brain controlled by a worm, meet Giant Spiders, a few NPCs that are also trying to kill you with their traps and weapons. The thing that creeps me most is the fact that a boy will be stepping on DEAD FLOATING bodies in game plus giving the freedom to drag the dead body as desired! This is surely and properly categorized under Medium Maturity!
GAME PLAY
Okay, so the game play is quite simple. You navigate yourself in a continuous flat environment with obstacles that you must overcome each step of the way. Everything is quite simple except for the fact that you will be using your heads to solve some puzzles to get through.
The puzzles were not that difficult though perhaps at medium, but at least it will make you think for at least a minute or so just to come up with a solution (braniacs, this could be a walk in the park for you so please don’t ruin the setting).
As of the moment, we are still going through the challenges so there might be a few parts were we could definitely get stuck which means, this review could have a PART 2! So stay tuned for that.
GRAPHICS
The graphics is basically 2D in a black and white environment ; a scene perfect for the set up but a little off if based on modern quality.
SOUNDS
Sounds were also perfect by choice if you ask me. Just enough to make things creepy but still that good to help you focus. Each step of the protagonist also initiates a sound but it seems there’s a bit of a problem on this feature. Sounds are very low when nearly full but is maxed out when full on one of our devices while when we played it on a local brand phone, there was no sound at all!
Setting that aside each body pierced, water splashes, falling on high places and wood creeks have their own detail making this side of the game pretty much astounding!
—
But what is Limbo anyway? According to Wikipedia Limbo is referred to as the “edge of Hell”. – is a speculative idea about the afterlife condition of those who die in original sin without being assigned to the Hell of the Damned
Back on the game, there is not much detail given except for the fact that he is looking for his older sister on Limbo. First released on XBOX Live Arcade made by a Danish game developer PlayDead.
After a few pages on the web, it seems that Limbo has been around for roughly five years as it celebrates its anniversary on July and is now available on many different platforms that includes Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, SteamOS, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, iOS, Android, OnLive.
Since we are playing this on our Android device, Limbo could be bought on Playstore for Php. 229.15 as of this writing and is currently downloaded around 500,000+ on PlayStore alone with a near perfect rating!
CONCLUSION
This game definitely hooked us up! A great addition for our pastime with its thrilling and exciting gameplay and logical problems!
For those interested, please support Limbo by buying this awesome game at your preferred platforms! Visit their site at: www.playdead.com
